[on the destruction of many a would-be love affair]
spytap:
You live your life on your terms
no compromise.
Ronen Verbit:
I don’t demand this of others
spytap
which is a common desire, and many people wish they could do the same.
it’s a romanticized image that most people have told themselves is something to grow out of; that “adulthood” or “real life” and living life on one’s own terms aren’t compatible,
so that self-image issue is personal disappointment for letting them convince themselves that it was an unrealistic or unattainable goal
in the end, you’re providing a good example, but it’s one that can be very shocking
so it’s not that you’re an asshole, more like opening up the door to your apartment and finding a unicorn long after you’ve convinced yourself they don’t exist.
Ronen Verbit
this does me no good
because I’m still a unicorn
spytap
you can do one of two things: change or not.
Ronen Verbit
horses can’t kiss unicorns
they get stabbed in the fucking face
spytap
is it worth changing yourself in order to make it easier to be around others?
Ronen Verbit
it’s lonely being a unicorn
